Tuna Souffle Salad
Tuna souffle salad.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (6-1/2 or 7 ounces each) tuna
- 1 package lemon flavored gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
- 1 tablespoon grated onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Salad greens
- Mayonnaise or French dressing
Instructions
- Drain tuna.
- Break into large pieces.
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
- Add cold water, vinegar, salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
- Blend well with rotary beater.
- Chill until almost congealed.
- Whip with rotary beater until fluffy.
- Fold in onion, celery, parsley and tuna.
- Place in a 1-quart ring mold; chill until firm.
- Unmold on salad greens.
- Serve with mayonnaise or French dressing.
